Coaching Team

At Centenary Dolphins Swim Club (CEDO), our swimmers are supported by experienced coaches, Rackley Swimming, and a dedicated club committee. Together, we provide a positive and structured environment where swimmers can develop their skills, build confidence, and work toward their personal goals.

Whether you are a recreational swimmer, a parent looking for a supportive community club, or a competitive swimmer aiming to progress from club level to state or national competition, CEDO provides a pathway to help you move forward.

Hiromi Barnett

Head Coach

Hiromi Barnett, Head Coach at Centenary Dolphins Swim Club

Hiromi Barnett leads the Centenary Dolphins Swim Club coaching program and brings extensive experience to our swimming community. She has worked with swimmers across all levels, from learn to swim through to international competition, and has a strong background in helping young athletes develop in a supportive, structured, and technically focused environment.

Hiromi previously coached at Brisbane Grammar School for eight years, working with swimmers at a wide range of levels. She also has a long connection with the Jindalee swimming community, having lived locally since 1997 and coached at Jindalee from 2008 to 2015.

Her coaching style is built around long term swimmer development, strong technical foundations, consistency, and positive relationships with athletes and families. Many swimmers have benefited from her ability to guide them over many years, building confidence, discipline, and a genuine enjoyment of the sport.

Hiromi’s commitment to ongoing coach development was recognised when she was selected for a Queensland Coach Tour to the 2023 World Championships in Fukuoka. This experience further strengthened her knowledge of high performance swimming and international level competition.

As Head Coach, Hiromi works closely with Rackley Swimming and the Centenary Dolphins Swim Club committee to support swimmers as they progress through the squad pathway, from early squad training through to competitive performance.

Program Support

The coaching program is supported by Rackley Swimming and Rackley Facility Manager Richard Kraatz, who works alongside the club to help provide a safe, welcoming, and well organised environment for swimmers and families.
